Love this, Urmila. How about just doing it first for the fun of it - then maybe trying a new technique or tool as well. Or not! (I'm talking to myself):)
Absolutely! Lisa, but I have noticed when I try to learn a new technique and if I donβt get it, I start feeling less about the whole thing. So I decided if it brings me joy thatβs the only technique I want to follow π
Hi Urmila! I think there is a lot of truth to this. And I also think that for many people, the process of learning is about becoming more restrictive. For instance, whatβs one of the first things we learn about coloring? Stay in the lines. Follow the rules, donβt go against the grain. But doing all this unwittingly restricts our creative juices. Thanks for giving me something to think about!
Thanks Mack for resonating! Personally for my personality rules and should dos really crush my creativity but some people thrive in structure as well. At the end of the day, itβs about knowing when to remove the trainer wheels and go weeeeeπ.
ALL OF THIS! I love your bright, sunny, creative advice Urmila. We share a great deal of the same ethos on creativity. It's wonderful to meet a fellow artistic champion x

Yes to this, Urmila! I used to believe creating had to mean producing. But some of my favorite things Iβve ever made were the ones no one saw.
Happy creative June :)
